This is a placeholder for my website which will be mostly about learning and enjoying birding over age 50, but with lots of useful tips and tricks for beginning birders of any age.
I'm a hard of hearing birder, which you would think would be ironic in the world of birding but it hasn't stopped me from trying. In February 2025, I started birding with one goal in mind. I've been a casual birder for over 25 years, but always had someone more experienced to point birds out for me. My goal was to take my first "official" birdwatching class and go out birding at least once daily for practice. This has truly been the most life-changing interest I've ever had. Best of all, it's accessible in a number of ways.
While this website is under construction, here's some of my favorite places to get more bird joy.
